Skincare for olive skin tones

So, you've got that Jessica Alba glow going on - not quite dark, but not pale skin either. You tan before you burn and you don't need a lot of make up? You have olive skin.

We have put together a few tips to help you maintain a healthy, smooth olive complexion.

Your biggest skin concerns

More melanin means increased risk of pigmentation, which can start as early as 25 and it doesn't look so pretty - plus the sun loves pigmentation, so you need to be extra careful and protect your skin when you are exposed to the sun which is all the time!

Skin care tips

Clay-based cleansers and kaolin masks help with oiliness, while hyaluronic acis and oil-free moisturisers keep skin comfortably hydrated. Regular exfoliation stimulates natural cell turnover and removes dead skin cells from the surface. Resurfacing the skin will also reduce breakouts and of course, don't forget your SPF.

We recommend: Dermalogica's Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50

What about makeup?

Olive skin's have a golden or yellow undertone so this is what you need to look for when testing out foundations. As always we recommend focussing on the right skin care and light makeup to let your skin air. A BB or CC cream is a great alternativ eto foundation and you won't even feel like you are wearing foundation! Providing just enough coverage to give olive skin a flawless finish!

We recommend: ASAP CC Cream SPF 15

Still unsue about which skin products are suited to you and which foundation you should go for? No worries - we are here to help you!
