There is a combination of factors that give our complexion a dull, lacklustre look:
Good news is: all of these aggravators have solutions - we don't need to just put up with the skin looking dull!
1. Add some Vitamin C into your skincare regime.
Vitamin C has such a brightening effect on the skin, it is a high potency anti-oxidant which protects our skin cells from damage.
It also inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance.
These are my two favourite Vitamin C serums to help defy dullness:
2. Stay hydrated & Eat a well balanced diet.
Drinking water helps flush out toxins and increases blood flow, which will help the skin look bright and keep the skin tone looking even.
Eating a well balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables, as they contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect skin from the cellular damage caused by free radicals. Some causes of free radical damage are: smoking, pollution and sun damage.
3. Do an at-home peel
Peels are a great way to kick start your skin cell turnover. Exfoliating the skin will help to polish and remove the dull and lifeless cells that sit on the surface and cause the skin to look dull. I have two favourite at home peels that will help bring the skin back to life.
4. Massage your skin!
This is a simple & effective step you can do when applying your serums or moisturisers.
