I am often asked about what the difference is between Retinol and Vitamin A.

The answer - Not much really..

Retinol comes from a group of ingredients called Retinoids, which form part of the Vitamin A family. For Retinol to be absorbed into the skin, it needs to be broken down into Retinoic acid. This conversion process is helped along by a naturally occurring protein in our body called enzymes. Once converted to this amazing ingredient, the retinol can finally begin to do it’s job, and what an amazing job it has: stimulating collagen, speeding up cell renewal and improving skin texture.

Retinol, as part of the Vitamin A family, is a must have ingredient for anyone whose looking for that glow. For those that are concerned with fine lines, uneven skin tone, skin firming, types of scaring and overall, slowing down the aging process.

Here are the go to products I find myself recommending with Retinol:

Aspect Retinol Brulee

ASPECT Retinol Brulee:

Refining night serum - Love this product. They have added a new key ingredient Retinol H10 which is a new generation of retinol. It increases the natural production of hyaluronic acid. Causing an immediate plumping effect and softening the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Dermalogica's Overnight Retinol Repair 0.5%

Dermalogica's Overnight Retinol Repair

Dermalogica used a Microencapsulated form of Retinol (0.5%) that ensures more of the active retinol reaches the right layers of the skin. It also creates an invisible protective shield on the skins surface, which helps reduce moisture loss. Overnight Retinol Repair can also be used for a SENSTIVE SKIN as you are able to customise the strength of the retinol with a buffer cream.
