The Aspect range of cosmeceuticals has been expertly engineered with cutting edge, optically pure actives from medical science and nature to calm inflammation and treat all types of acne and congestion. But before we get to all the options of acne fighting products in the Aspect range, let's take a look at what exactly is acne and the reasons we get it.

What is acne?

Acne is an inflammation of the hair follicle. An overproduction of oil and a build-up of bacteria are contributing factors when it comes to the formation of acne. Areas of the skin with the largest number of functional oil glands, such as the face, neck, chest, back and shoulders, are often affected.

Why do we get acne?

Acne occurs when your skin's pores become blocked with oil, dead skin or bacteria. They can also occur due to an infection of the hair follicle and sebaceous gland. There are many factors that contribute to Acne, such as hormones, poor skin hygiene, cosmetics, pollution, diet and lifestyle. Some of these factors are hard to control and need internal and external help.

Let's take a look at the Aspect range to treat Acne & Congestion

1. CLEANSER + EXFOLIANT

Aspect Exfoliating Cleanser

For acne prone skins, the Aspect Exfoliating Cleanser is gentle enough and yet, it does a deep cleanse to improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.

Key Ingredients: L- Lactic Acid refines and gently exfoliates. Salicylic Acid is exfoliating and decongesting. Aloe Vera is hydrating, soothing, calming and purifying. Canadian Willowherb provides soothing calming and antioxidant protection.

To use: AM/PM. 2-3 times per week at first, increasing frequency as tolerated. Dispense 2-3 pumps into palm of hand and massage into the skin for at least 30 seconds using gentle circular movements. Rinse thoroughly.

2. SERUM

Aspect Exfol L

This is an exfoliating night serum that contains AHA's to work their magic by lifting away excess dull, devitalised skin cells to reveal a smoother, clearer, brighter and healthier looking surfacer layer, with more refined looking pores and fewer visible imperfections.

To use: PM only - on alternate nights. You can alternate with Retinol Brulee. Smooth a pea size amount all over face.

3. MOISTURISER

Clear Skin Complex

This moisturiser will target issues such as blemishes and excess oil for a clear, more radiant-looking complexion. The Clear Skin Complex works to clarify complexion and reduce the appearance of skin imperfections associated with problematic skin.

Key Ingredients: It contains Chelating Agent, an innovative complex of ingredients that allows AHA's to work more effectively. Citric Acid (which is an AHA), works to exfoliate the skin to smooth texture and clarify complexion.

To use: Use once daily - Ideally at night. Apply generously as required. Always use a maximum SPF while using this product.

4. SERUM #2

Aspect Retinol Brulee

Retinol Brulee is a refining Vitamin A night serum that can have a profound impact on just about every conceivable sign of ageing, it is also very beneficial for acne and congestion. It speeds up the cell turnover, potentially reducing the clogging of pores and acne.

To use: Use only small pea size amount, and pat onto face. Alternate with Exfol L serum. Cannot be used if pregnant or lactating. PM.

5. FACE MASK

Aspect Exfoliating Clay Mask

Aspect Exfoliating Clay Mask is enriched with mattifying and super-absorbent Bentonite and Kaolin. These natural clays help rebalance and detoxify oily and congested types.

Key Ingredients: Acne-fighting Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid also gently exfoliate and purify the skin. Niacinamide and Canadian Willowherb Extract work together to deeply hydrate and calm the skin. Finally, antioxidants Vitamin C and E protect and brighten skin for a repaired complexion.

To use: Cleanse face with appropriate cleanser, rinse and towel dry. Apply a pea size amount of mask to clean hands and apply over the face evenly and allow to sit for 10–15 minutes. Gently rinse.

6. SPOT TREATMENT

Aspect Stop Spots

Dry out blemishes without irritating the skin, while key ingredients Niacinamide and Beracare AAA soothe the affected area to reduce redness. This spot treatment was also formulated with Salicylic Acid to provide an exfoliative effect to the blemish by dissolving oils in the local area to encourage sloughing away of dead skin cells.

To use: Apply a small dab on affected areas as required throughout the day as often as is required.
